Processed Logos are pretty similar to processed food. They are prepared in such a way that they are built to last for a long time. Also, they tend to have a very refined look to them. Now, that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with a Processed Logo. In fact, they are popular and it’s the logo style that about 90% of the logos out there are created. Having said that, let’s look at the defining features of this very popular logo design.
Processed Logo Refinement
When looking at a Processed Logo, I see a design that has a very clean look. If there are icons, they can be very symbolic of what they are representing. If there are illustrations, the edges are crisp with very smooth curves and details. The lettering used is either a font or a very clean illustration that has been chiseled down in the computer. Overall, the appearance of a Processed Logo gives a very professional appearance to the viewer. Not that an Organic Logo doesn’t. It’s just that some Organic Logos can give too playful of an appearance that it comes off too childish to be taken seriously.
Who wouldn’t use a Processed Logo?
The key to the above question is whether or not you want to be considered corporate. A company that wants to have a national or worldly feel, needs to have a clean, identifiable look. That includes financial companies, franchises restaurants, retail stores, or any other company that has a desire to be seen outside of their local community. The Processed Logo allows a business to attract customers anywhere it reaches. If they go for the more Organic Feel, often, they become identified more with a select region that they come from. I would venture to guess that very few people would look at a Processed Logo and be able to identify where it’s headquarters are unless they already know it.
The clean look, the refined approach make a Processed Logo a very desired look. Just like processed food, this logo style will have a staying power the length of Twinkies in a bomb shelter.
